Storyboard
I helped with the storyboard by coming up with all of the shots that he needed to draw for the storyboard.
Scout locations
These first few images are at Matthews house which is our hopeful filming location.
These next two are of my house which is the back up if there is problems for whatever reason at Matthews.
I contributed to this by deciding the film places and Matthew took the pictures of them.
Scheduling film
We were planning to shoot the movie on over the weekend of December 14 but it didn't go to plan with everyone's schedule and I had to work the next few days. The following Monday we went to Matthews house on the 17th. There was also problems because we had to wait for the train to go by his house at night which was missed the first few times because it had already passed while we were at soccer practice.

Shot list
Establishing shot-This will be Max and Gabby parking into their spot after the wedding.
Hand held-Starts as a mid-shot that’s following max into the house in which the camera fades to black. This will make the scene more hectic.
Mid Shot-Gabby is exiting the car with a lot of things to bring into her house. This shot is going to show struggle is starting.
Wide Shot-Gabby's heel to her shoe gets stuck in the tracks and she begins to get angry.
Close up-Her face will have a frightened expression to show there is something off screen that is happening.
Point of View Shot-This shot will have Gabby looking down the tracks while there is a bright light coming her direction.
Hand Held-Shaking of the camera while the train is moving closer to Gabby creating more realism to the scene.
Two Shot-Matt and Nick are taking a for sale sign out of the ground.
Close up-Nick opening the same door that max had went into.
Over the shoulder-While Nick and Matt are talking you see Gabby's ghost in the doorway making strangle movements.
Wide Shot-Nick and Matt in the kitchen looking at the broken glass. The wide shot is used to show that there is nothing besides them in the house.
High angle Close Up-Zooming in while Gabby presses the knife to his neck.
For the Shot list I had to come up with all the shots for the movie. I watched a lot of horror movies so I could get ideas of what they did to create suspense and horror.

Casting
Gabby-I chose to have Gabby in the film because she is a quiet closed off girl. She has the stereotypical haunting hair. She is also very small and can make creepy movements. She is also one of my good friends so we can easily include her in the shots.
Max-I want to use him for the movie because he is very outgoing and will be able to be serious and make it seem more real.
Matt-The scene is taking place at his house and he has permission to use his moms car. He also has been in plays and has been in a middle school that was set on performing.
Nick-Nick is in the movie because he is into acting and is a serious person and will be able to give a fearful tone and make the movie seem more real.
For the casting i mainly contributed by going out and seeking people that I know to be in the film. I looked for the people i think could best fit each role in the movie.

script
This is my script for our movie called "Derailed and Deranged". I have come up with the majority of the script because my partner hasn't consistently been to school. I decided to put short and quick conversations so the audience can focus more on the surroundings rather than what the characters are talking about. In the majority of the first scene there is only one character screaming to build suspense during the action match between her and the train.

Film Project Genre Research
The movie Ghost House begins with music in Chinese that has a title of where the scene is being placed at. While they run the title the music hits a bell at the same time of the name being displayed. I could use this technique in my movie with the credits. After this there is just a run through of a town in China while the music is still being played. After this it turns into an action match of a girl screaming then it flashes to a credit then plays her running and another credit. The credits they show are the film producers and the directors to the movie. i could use this in my movie to help create suspense between each action. I was unable to find the budget and the amount of money made by this production. This movie was nominated for best independent trailer award but did not win.

The movie The Open House begins with a black screen with horror music that has a fade in of the movie title. The movie continues the music after the title and add in a sound bridge of someone breathing heavily adding a frightening mood before you even know whats happening. The sound bridge of the breathing turns to a close up shot of a teenager running down a street. During the scene of him running down the street there is ambient sound of a ticking sound to a watch. In this movie there are no opening credits to this movie which is similar to many of the other horror movies I have researched. I can use this movie to help with mine by using sound bridges that are similar to add more realistic effects. Since this is a Netflix original film it had a budget of $100,000. This movie was not nominated for any rewards because of its bad ratings.

Film Project Genre Research
In the movie The Conjuring from the second they display The Warner Bros. Pictures title there is already scary music playing in the background. Once the movie began the music stops and there is a close up shot of just the eye and cheek of a doll that is scratched and torn up. During this shot there is the voices of actors in the background talking about how the doll is haunted. Next there is a voice over from the characters explaining how the doll became haunted while we are seeing a flashback of what was happening during the time they are telling us about. In this movie there is no job titles displayed in the beginning. The movie had a budget of twenty million dollars and shockingly had a gross of 319.5 million dollars. The Conjuring won Empire award for best horror movie in 2014. They also won Critics choice movie award for best Sci-Fy/Horror movie in 2014. I am unable to use any of the movies techniques for job titles because they simply did not display any.

Film Project Genre Research
In the movie 6 Souls they played the credits over a black screen with creepy music just like in It Follows. In the credits they have the producers, and then two names without any description. The first shot they include is a master shot of all the actors sitting in a lobby watching one lady while she is working at a desk. Every character is making minimal movement besides the desk worker. However in this movie not much is told within the first two minutes. The beginning is very uninteresting and does not leave me wanting to see more of the movie. They do not include any incidental music which results in boredom because there is no dialogue to go along with the opening scene as well. I would not use anything from this movie to inspire my own.

Film Project Genre Research
In the beginning they have the credits rolling over a black screen with a loud eerie sound that starts it off with a creepy effect before anything even happens. In the credits it has the companies that worked to create the film and it also had the director of the movie. However this is kind of lazy and boring to just have a black picture with credits rolling over. After the credits it turns to a panoramic shot with loud beating music. During the panoramic shot it has a woman running out of her house in fear of something unknown. It then changes to a wide shot of her walking backwards in fear while there is still a mysterious beating sound playing over. After this she hops in her car and drives away while the music gets faster and louder creating suspense. The way they made the introduction was very good because it draws the viewer to want to find out what she is running from. They had a budget of 2 million USD they also had a gross of 14.5 million USD. The film has been nominated for multiple awards such as the Saturn Award for best horror film, Critics Choice Award for best Sci-Fi/Horror Movie, CFCA Award for best original score and many other award. They won the Next Wave Award for both best film and best screenplay.

Project Selection- My Decision
My decision is to make the film. I am more interested in making a film than to take pictures and write descriptions. Personally I enjoy to work in groups and with multiple people to gain constructive criticism. One of the people i am working with has film experience and will be able to help. This will help us move at a quick pace and finish things on time. We haven't added anyone else to our group as of now but are open to getting more people. The genre we have decided to do is horror. The reason is that I have always been into scary movies so I have a lot of knowledge of horror films. I also have good leadership skills and I am able to gather people to be in the movie and are able to fit good roles for the movie.

Project Selection-Film
In class we have reviewed more films from other students and that is something I want to pursue. I find the it interesting to learn how to edit and film a movie. In class we have watched movies such as Ferris Buellers days off and the documentary on it. Film and movies has always been something that i find interesting. Also, we watched films made by other students which seems like something fun to do. The only issue i find with the film is it has to be a good project which makes us rely on other people. If your group mates don't show up to school or are lazy the work falls on to me. Another factor that is unappealing to me is that you have to find places to film and get approval from the people who own the property.
Project Selection-Magazine
I think the magazine would not be a good choice for me because I am not into writing and taking photos. I have never been one to read magazines besides a sports one every once in a while. The process of research and tedious investigation is not something i am strong in. Also I feel like i could be stressed out by the process of organizing the pages. Another issue is I feel like it could be hard to find people to interview. However there is positives of doing the magazine such as just being able to work alone. It could be good because you don't have to rely on anybody else to receive a good grade. The downside to this is you have more work on your own and you are unable to get criticism and ideas from other people.
